Dating back to 1745, the Rabot Estate is the oldest cocoa estate on the island and home to some very rare old trees which are of significant scientific and chocolate interest.
Its new owners spent their two first years rehabilitating the cocoa groves, restoring the original historic estate house and planning how they could open up this captivating experience to Hotel Chocolat customers. That’s when they decided to create an intimate and exclusive place, the real Hotel Chocolat, where nature, well-being, hedonism, style, and of course chocolate, would come together...
The Hotel Chocolat offers some of the the most wonderful luxury accommodation in Saint Lucia with the most stunning views of the twin Pitons. The décor and furnishings will not fail to impress - they enhance the overall atmosphere of peace that pervades the cocoa plantation. All the bedrooms are furnished with individuality and comfort.
Boucan is The Hotel Chocolat’s own restaurant, where guests can experience Cacao Cuisine. The word “Boucan” refers to the traditional West Indian name for a cocoa drying facility. The restaurant is built on the site of the Rabot Estate’s original Boucan. Boucan is also linked to “boucaneer” or “buccaneer,” the local pirates that would smoke and dry their food to preserve it for long trips at sea.
